These frame re enforcement plates are needed to prevent the sway bar bolts from tearing out of the frame, Firebirds had threaded inserts due to all Trans ams having 1.25" front sway bars, however over time these inserts can fail or rust. Camaros simply had self tapping screws that will fail if a larger sway bar is installed.
